Exposição Paulo Nozolino - Bone Lonely 2009

Paulo Nozolino expõe na Galeria Quadrado Azul em Lisboa (perto do Cais de Sodré) entre 8 de Janeiro e 7 de Março de 2009.



A exposição intitula-se "Bone Lonely" e resultará também na publicação de um livro pela editota Steidl previsto para Maio de 2009 e que inclui ainda 32 poemas de Rui Baião.

"A man stands in the middle of destruction, feeling lonely to an unbelievable point, bone lonely. He makes deaf images during his blind walks. Dwelling with thoughts about the loss in all conflicts, the feeling that all systems fail and the certainty that nothing lasts forever. He wonders what light shines in loneliness, what sounds come out of a moving body, what can fill the absence. He has no answers. He sees silent panic, he hears reports on people, he smells themould, he feels the flesh aging and he tastes the dry saliva in his mouth. There seems to be no escape. Notas Biográficas

"Paulo Nozolino , 53 anos, nasceu em Lisboa. Com base em Londres, entre 1975-78, estudou fotografia e começou uma longa série de viagens pela Europa, América e Ásia. Viveu em Paris durante a década de 90. Bolseiro da Villa Médicis em 1994-5, publica “PENUMBRA” (Scalo 1996), resultado de doze anos de viagens pelo mundo árabe, com exposição em Lisboa no CCB. Recebe o Grand Prix de la Photographie, Vevey, Suiça em 1995 para trabalhar no projecto “SOLO”, uma incursão solitária sobre o estado da Europa, de Auschwitz a Sarajevo, premiado com o Oskar Barnack Award, Arles 1998. Em 1999 trabalha com Robert Frank no filme “San Yu” em Paris e parte em seguida para Macau onde concebe “FIM”, que expõe na Culturgest, Lisboa, 2001. A Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, dedica-lhe uma exposição em 2001 intitulada “NADA”. Uma grande exposição antológica é feita pelo Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves, no Porto e o livro “FAR CRY”, publicado pela Steidl em 2005, recebe o Deutscher Fotobuchpreis, Stuttgart no mesmo ano. Aceita o Prémio Nacional de Fotografia em 2006, pelo conjunto da sua obra. Vive e trabalha entre Lisboa e Paris." in http://www.artecapital.net

"Paulo Nozolino was born in Lisbon in 1955. In the seventies, he lived in London, in the eighties and nineties in Paris, and recently he moved back to Portugal.
